In a Typical Day
Teachers plan a framework for each day wherein children actively participate in a variety of activities including:
Language Art Experience - stories, poems, finger plays, music, movement, dramatization, talking and listening.
Creative Arts Materials - paints, paste, scissors, stickers, collage, dough, clay and crayons.
Manipulatives - games, puzzles, blocks, toy cars, water, sand, construction equipment and woodworking.
Outdoor Activities - running, climbing, riding wheeled toys and tricycles.
Sensory Experiences - cooking, eating foods and experimenting with a variety of media.
Social Experiences - solving problems with peers, snack time, dramatic play, group planning, cleaning up, evaluating, and group games.
Mental Stimulation - materials to sort, classify, group, solve problems, and interaction with people.
Sense of Wonder - growing plants, caring for animals and observing natural phenomena.
A musical program is provided through song, instruments beyond the chapel program. Children and staff attend chapel once a week. |
